    Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Services

    RMA Process Flow Chart This flow chart will help you understand our RMA Process.

    • Fill in RMA Request Form
    • Either email RMA_Request@bcmcom.com or fax back to BCM at (949) 470-0971. Our RMA Specialist will contact you within 1 business day.
    • All products returned for credit must be returned undamaged and unopened in the original packaging along with all original accessories and other contents within 30 days of invoice date. Products kept longer than this period will NOT be accepted even if stored in unopened condition. Under no other circumstances will products be eligible for return for credit. All products returned for credit are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

    • DOA items, and products being returned for credit/ replacement must be sent along with their original contents and packaging. Products which are incomplete or show signs of abuse or misuse will not be accepted.
    • Any product will be considered DOA if it fails within the first 30 days after original invoice date.

    If the problem persists after all attempts of component replacement, then the motherboard may require repair or replacement. The motherboard can be repaired or replaced if it is within the warranty period of your reseller and/or with BCM Advanced Research. Check with your reseller for their warranty and exchange policies. Please note that BCM Advanced Research cannot honor a warranty period set by a reseller that EXCEEDS BCM’s warranty period. If your reseller is out of business or no longer supports your BCM product, BCM Advanced Research will accept a direct RMA with the Original Purchase Invoice.

    • The RMA number must be clearly and prominently written on the outside of the package. Packages received without a valid RMA number will be rejected.
    • Senders are responsible for shipping the RMA to us. There are no specific packing instructions, but please be sure to properly secure the contents inside the package and use proper packaging materials to avoid damage during shipping. We recommend you to use shipping companies that can provide you with a tracking number. For example, FedEx, UPS and DHL. Also, you may want to insure the package.
    • Any service requests must be preapproved by BCM with a valid RMA number prior to sending.
    • Once an RMA number is assigned, it is valid for 14 days from the date of issue.
    • BCM reserves the right to reject and void warranty on any RMA returns that have been physically damaged, have missing/bent pins, burns marks, have cracks, or other damages due to abuse.
    • If the information on your request varies from the actual item(s) received, your RMA will be based on the actual item(s) received.
    • For RMA returns, please ship back the defective product ONLY without accessories. BCM is not responsible for accessories received or returned with the RMA.
    • Any repaired unit carries either a three months warranty, or the original warranty, whichever is longer.

    Warranty Information

    BCM products carry a 1 year limited warranty from the date of invoice.

    For the commercial products, a BCM invoice number is required upon requesting the RMA number. If the invoice number cannot be located, at BCM’s discretion the products may be excluded from warranty.

    * For ODM/OEM customers, please refer to your Sales Agreement for the warranty period.

    • Products damaged by any catastrophe, accident or from neglect, misuse, fault, improper assembly, improper maintenance, inadequate return packaging, or negligence by the customer or any third party will void the warranty.
    • Service and repair of accessories, apparatus, attachments or any other devices which are not BCM Products or options.
    • Defacing of the product’s labeling (BIOS or revision control label alterations, serial number missing, serial number no longer discernible and serial number invalid). These numbers are recorded and tracked for warranty purposes.
    • Unauthorized changes, modifications or alterations in or to the Products not installed by BCM.
    • Damage to or loss of any programs, data, or removable storage media.
    • Installation, relocation or removal of the Products or any accessories, apparatus, attachments or other devices.
    • Normal wear and tear.
    • The furnishing of accessories or supplies.
    • Damage by shipping carrier.
    • Incompatibility issues.
    • BCM is not responsible for damages of any kind including, but not limited to, direct or indirect damages, lost profits, loss of savings, or other special, incidental, exemplary or consequential damages whether for breach of contract, tort or otherwise, or whether arising out of the use of or inability to use the product, even if BCM or any distributor, dealer, or authorized service provider has been advised or the possibility of such damages, or any claim by any other party.
    • These products are NOT designed for OEM (Hewlett Packard, AST, Packard Bell, NEC, SONY, Micron Toshiba, Samsung, Wang, Diamond, Gateway, Dell, IBM, Compaq, CompUSA, Computer City, GRiD, SCI, Digital, Texas Instruments, Selection, and any other computer makers).
    • For FLG775 and LGA115x motherboards, if the board ships back without a processor socket cover, it may damage the pins and void the warranty as physical damage. It is recommended that customers save the processor socket cover.
    • BCM reserves the right to change this policy at any time and without advanced notice.

    The Serial Number barcode is defined as follows:

    First 5 digits = Part Number
    6th and 7th digits = Year (08 = 2008)
    8th and 9th digits = Week (45 = 45th week of that year)
    10th = Internal Control Code
    11th - 15th digits = Serial Number

    OR

    First 5 digits = Part Number

    6th digit = Internal Control Code 7th and 8th digits = Year (08 = 2008)
    9th and 10th digits = Week (45 = 45th week of that year)
    11th - 15th digits = Serial Number

    * For ODM/OEM products, Serial number rule may be different.

    For all products outside of the warranty period or with damage not covered by warranty are defined as Out of Warranty. For Out of Warranty products, BCM can still service most of those items for a reasonable repair fee. Please fill in an RMA Request Form for Out of Warranty service requests. Turn-around time for Out of Warranty repairs may vary depending on parts’ availability.

    * The above fees are for troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair labor and do not include the cost of replacement parts and components. Troubleshooting and diagnosis charges are non-fundable once troubleshooting and diagnosis has been authorized and has started regardless if the final repair is authorized once the replacement parts costs are determined. This also applies if through troubleshooting and diagnosis the unit is determined to be damaged beyond repair or is damaged in four or more locations due to potential product instability.
